Student Experience and Engagement

The Division of Student Experience and Engagement prepares Indiana State University students for life and career success through high-impact experiential programs, services, and partnerships that cultivate leadership, life and work skills, and civic responsibility. In collaboration with community partners, we extend this learning beyond the classroom to address regional challenges and support lifelong learning throughout west-central Indiana.

Give to Blue Day Priorities

Alternative Break Program provides students with immersive service-learning experiences during academic breaks that combine community engagement, education, and reflection. Through local, regional, and national trips, students partner with nonprofit organizations to address critical social issues while developing leadership skills and a strong sense of civic responsibility.

Career Center Clothing Closet offers students free professional attire for interviews, career fairs, internships, and other career-related opportunities. By helping students present themselves with confidence and professionalism, the Clothing Closet supports career readiness and student success.

Residential Life Emergency Fund supports students experiencing unexpected challenges related to housing, food access, and other urgent needs. This fund provides short-term assistance that helps students remain stable and focused on their academic goals during difficult moments.

Sycamore Food Pantry addresses student food insecurity by providing access to emergency food and supporting healthy, sustainable eating options. Contributions help sustain operations and ensure students have reliable access to essential nutrition.

Indiana State Community Garden offers a collaborative space for students, faculty, staff, and community partners to grow fresh produce while engaging in hands-on learning. The garden supports sustainability education, service opportunities, and food access initiatives that strengthen campus and community connections.

Campus Recreation provides services, programs, and facilities to enhance the recreation and wellness experiences of our campus community. We employ over 120 student employees in a variety of roles which allow them to develop skills that contribute to their future careers. Contributions for Give to Blue Day will assist in supporting our programs and enhance opportunities for our student staff. Some of our programs include Intramural Sports, Club Sports, Trike, Tandem, Swim Lessons, and Group Exercise classes.

Sycamore Outdoor Center provides students and community groups a place to unplug, connect, and learn in a beautiful, natural environment. From retreat facilities and overnight cabins to lakes, trails, and recreation spaces, the Center offers a great space to explore and grow. The Outdoor Center offers memorable experiences that foster teamwork, wellness, and lifelong learning.
